Well i will always recommend you to submit your website in all tons of search engines. I have list of 5000 search engines and i have submitted my domain in all sites and really its mind blowing i got lots of juicy backlinks from them so i recommend all to submit as more as possible but never do spam. If you do spam or deteriorate the sites u are definitely going to be banned or its not useful in long term. I always prefer white hat because good things are always good.

Do not submit your site in search engines. Today is your first day on the Internet, you may have heard of internal link to a website is very important to establish its rankings in search engines. If the search engine can not find your own by searching the web, then your site is not any external links. If so, you will never have a decent search engine ranking so what point up?

Its possible you don't have enough unique content for the search engine to deem your website relevant enough for it's search results. Clean up any spammy or aggregated content. Also, build backlinks; backlinks always help you get indexed quicker.
