Hey Alex, Love your blog, have signed up to your google connect. I started blogging in November and have gone on to having a big following through a method called tribe syndication. I currently have about 400+ visitors a day. Basically tribe syndication is about forming a tribe with people who then syndicate your content to their followers. It is traditionally done in what is known as a power hour. Where by you all get together on skype, comment on each others blogs, retweet to twitter, post on facebook, and then submit to a large number of social networks and social bookmarking sites using tools such as onlywire and ping fm. I notice that your site is not self hosted, which is cool but, I would definitely recommend moving over to a self hosted wordpress site at some point. You will be able to make your blog more reader and traffic friendly though cool widgets and plugins. There are lots of tribe syndication methods which I document here http://bethhewittonline.com/tribe-syndication-methods-systems-and-tools-part-1/If you are looking to join community of like-minded bloggers then you mind find the unified tribe a great place to be, I did a blog post on it here http://bethhewittonline.com/the-unified-tribe-system/I really hope this helps and good luck Beth

Hey Beth Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my blog. I'm glad you liked it. Both of your blogs have some very useful information on http://socialmedia-butterfly.com/ and http://bethhewittonline.com i have followed both plus your Twitter, it looks like i can learn a lot from them. I will definitely look into the tribe syndication, i have never heard of this before. I did consider putting my blog on wordpress as i prefer the layout, however eventually i would like to put some advertisements on my blog and i found out that wordpress does not allow this. If i were to get my own domain and hosting would i be able to then put adverts on? Thank you again Katy

Hey Katy, Sorry I called you Alex before lol..not sure how that happened. I think you might be referring to Wordpress.com. Wordpress.org is the one for self hosted. You can advertise on a self host wordpress blog, I have banners and advertisements on mine. If you own it you can do what you like , obviously within the law!! Thanks for joining both my blogs. My socialmedia-butterfly, is a going to be a bit more targeted, when I get round to working on it lol. Get in touch if I can be of anymore help. Beth You

Hiya Katy, I am the owner of http://dorkutopia.com and I am also a relatively new blog. I receive about 500 unique visitors a day. How I got to this point: Robust social networking. You should be leveraging any source you have available to publicize your website. I link all my posts on Facebook and Myspace to all of my personal friends. they account for a good portion of my readers. I also created a Fan page for my website that people can "like" and get updates about my site that way. I have only about 50 fans on facebook but I am working on getting as many as I can. Leverage StumbleUpon. If you have not heard of or are not using StumbleUpon, I definitely recommend it, not only as a tool for your website, but as a way to find interesting websites you would never find other wise. Stumble upon sends about 50 visitors a day, but it has the potential to send a lot more. Give your posts the thumbs up and share them with your friends. Always try to be active in the comments of other blogs. Building an online relationship with several bloggers is a great way to create some buzz. Maybe if you are active enough and your comments are helpful, you may earn a slot in their blog roll or link listing. I agree printing.host in the fact you should skip advertising your own website on adwords or adbrite. You have no way to really monetize the traffic at the moment as you are not a self hosted blog. Just keep in mind that your blog should be updated regularly with good, original content. I like your site's design and your content is very targeted. If you are looking to make some money using your blog, check into affiliates such as Clickbank or Amazon. You can review products and sell them via your site for a commision. Hope this helps you! I already gave your site a Thumbs Up on stumble upon. that should net you some new visitors today!

Hey thanks a lot to both dorkutopia and printing.host. You have made some really good suggestions. I am not currently using stumble upon but i think i may now, i will sign up ASAP. Thank you dorkutopia for giving my site the thumbs up, i noticed a small but significant increase after you had, so thanks i appreciate that. I have been considering making a facebook fan page but i am under the impression that you cannot invite people who are not on your friend list is this correct? @PrintingHost.com, it is interesting that you say to launch without comments, could you explain the reason?
Thanks for your advice, some really excellent suggestions!

Katy, as for a fan page on facebook, you can only recommend it to your friends, but anyone on facebook can "like" it. I asked my friends to suggest it to their friends. so far so good. Once you have stumbleupon up and running we should exchange user names so you can send me your posts.
I will thumbs up them as you send them. I have a lot of friends who do this for me. the more "thumbs" you get, the more people stumble will show it to. As long as you have it, any page you "thumbs up" will be listed in your favorites page, where you can see how many people like it, and how many stumble has sent to your page

my Stumble name is lordicefalcon. if you have the toolbar installed, click the button that says stumblers. on the right side about halfway down is a search input box that says search for stumbler. type in lordicefalcon and it should pull up my profile. at the top right of the screen should be a button that says follow. Click that and a check box will appear saying accept shares to my toolbar. that way we can send each other pages from our site and thumbs up them.
I am pretty excited for this. Building a diverse stumble group is not very easy these days, thanks to the difficulty in adding and accepting friends. We should start a group of like minded stumblers just for this purpose.
