Hi everyone. I was a creative writing major in college and I'm keeping up a blog (daily) so that I can call myself a writer, so my degree (and 5 years of college) wasn't for nothing, and so that other people can read my writing.  It's stories but also interactive, hoping to start a dialog and relationship with the readers.

I'd love feedback about the writing, subject matter, and the look of the blog! Thank you! Check it out at www.thewildercoast.com.

Thanks a lot! -MC

It's refreshing to see a blog about something other than "how to make money online" for a change.

Are you making any money from AdSense? If not, would you consider taking it off and using the real estate for something else?

AdSense, if it isn't making money, is at least amusing. I like to see what Google thinks is relevant to a site. On your site "Wilder Coast" apparently makes AdSense believe that books by Laura Ingals Wilder should be of interest to your readers.

Really, if you (and everyone else out there) aren't making some serious money from Google with you AdSense space, why do you have it?

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the comments. I have made about 40.00 in google adsense in about two weeks. And by the way, I'd never made the Laura Ingalls Wilder connection before....but always wondered! I DO like advertising because it helps me rationalize spending so much time on these posts. It's an exciting way to make a little money. However, they're not the best adds....I'd be more interested in Banner Adds or something more eye-catching. Anyway, what would you suggest spending the real estate on?

Thanks again,

MC

I do wonder where to get Banner Ads....hmmm....maybe just a quick google search could help me. Also, I'm wondering, does anyone know what a good amount of posting per week is? I know you can over-do it but to not post enough can be the kiss of death....

You can have AdSense banner ads as well as the usual AdSense ads. You just have Google create your banner code and then add the code to your template in the header section. Sometimes you have to make some drastic changes to your template to have it look right.

If you look at our nice, big black space up top to the right of our "Blogger Forum" header, it is there for a reason.  :D

Thank you! it's my first "meme" (just learned what that is) but they're fun, and pretty easy to read.

Love your blog, too...incredibly eye-catching, a combination of a valentine and a party on the screen!
