Hi guys, I really want to change the look of my blog and I've come up with this idea but I don't know how to go about it.
My blog's template is good ol' 2-column Minima Black. I want to modify it so it has one main column for the posts and a 3-column footer to put any widgets or extra stuff. Here's a poorly made but (hopefully) clear representation of what I have in mind:

Can this be done? Would you give me a hand? (Pretty please?)

So it seems like Blogger decided to make things a tiny bit easier; now I have the option to apply a 1-, 2- or 3-column footer, which is great. I really do appreciate your help though, html is something I'm still discovering XD

Actually, you can easily code your blogger templates by the new edit layout in blogger.

  • From your Blogger Dashboard > Choose a blog you want to edit
Go to Design and you'll be redirected to your blogs visual layout.
Click Template Designer which can be found right next to Edit HTML
Noticed the screen is now split to the designer and your blogs visual layout?
On the upper left section of the designer, click Layout > Footer Layout.
See the third column footer image? Click it. After that Click Apply To Blog in the upper right corner. Then go back to your visual layout by clicking back to blogger.

Now you have a 3-column footer ;)

What can you fit in the width of the columns. It will be like 5 words across. Lets face it there are only a few designs that actually function ergonomically. A blog an't no newspaper.
