Hi guys,

I assure you I'm not a spammer. And I'm not 100% certain if this question should go under this topic. But since I am definitely a blogging "noob," I thought it appropriate.

Anyway, here's my issue:

I'm running a game blog based on the first-person shooter Hopeless 2. You can find my site at h2gamer.com. It is still an extremely young site, with hardly anything done at all. I'm being held up completely by a video issue. A major video issue.

Videos are going to be a huge part of my site, but I'm at a halt because I cannot get the best resolution for my videos via YouTube. And, unfortunately, YouTube is the best viral, free-to-upload site I've found.

The vids are brilliant-looking when I get them from FRAPS to VirtualDub and then coded down with x264. It's like you're actually playing in the game itself! But when you put them on YouTube, their reencoding process completely rips the quality to shreds.

If I were one of YT's favorite sons, raking the money in for the gargantuan Google hand over fist, I'd be allotted the pleasure of not having my videos r@ped by their cheap, low bitrate encoding. But I'm not, so I don't.

How can I host through a third-party and then put my videos on blogger? (Not YouTube-like videos, but real, high-quality, original coding videos.) The file sizes are too large (on average of 100MB) to load up through Blogger's player. They just go 'round and 'round for two days. And besides, I could only do a few with the 1GB limit if they did load.

I heard Picasa was tied in with Blogger... sorta. I guess it's all through Google.  ::)

I can purchase extra bandwidth on Picasa. I know that. They also accept large video files. I know that.

But here's what I'm hoping to do:

I want to install a standalone player on Picasa, put my video files in its folder, and then stream it on Blogger.

Can Picasa act as a hosting site, directly tied in to Blogger?

And if not, does anyone have any suggestions on where I can host my videos--in full quality without them being ripped down to nothing--and then stream on Blogger via my own custom player or a good web player (YouTube's is horrible)?

Thanks. I know I'm longwinded, but I thought it better to explain the entire issue so folks know I have been trying multiple measures to upload good-quality videos on my site.

(And if anyone wants to know why I seem not to like Google -- they turned me down for AdSense. They're 1/2 dead to me. 100% if I ever don't need them.)

 :)

I am a blogger too, and I seldom use videos on my posts because I am on a health niche. Youtube I guess is the best way to attach your videos in your blog...Sorry can't help you with this...
