Hi everyone,

I have a blog that I link to from my homepage on Links.com. While experimenting with a new app on my home page, I noticed that my SERP for certain keyword phrases increased dramatically as my traffic and lingering time of that traffic increased. Much more than backlinks, Google nowadays seems to be looking for:

1) Increase and acceleration of relevant traffic from relevant sources (other websites or search engine)

2) The amount of time the traffic stays on the site and the pages that it stays on.

3) The bounce rate.

I want to emphasize that the traffic has to be real and relevant. Google's algorithms have become highly sophisticated. Much of what you read nowadays about increasing links does not seem to be as relevant anymore as increasing relevant traffic. No doubt, Google is putting the emphasis on these variables in order to increase its value to its advertisers.

BTW, if you have some funny, entertaining, or interesting posts, please feel free to submit them to Links.com. All submissions are manually edited and the best make it into our database. You will get additional traffic from our traffic if the post is funny.
