I was skeptical at first, but now I realize that forums such as this one work very well for boosting traffic to your site.

In fact, I just wrote an article about this very topic.  Pretty interesting stuff if you want to take a look.  It shows how my unique visitors have increased by participating in forums.

Yup. It did for me too. Got a few yet. But still working on it. Key is to not bluntly promote your blog, but provide interesting and helpful answers to forums as well.  8)

Participating in forums have given me few new visitors, but not that Great Traffic, I guess its a matter of time before I post genuinely about other stuff that is being discussed, maybe then my blog benefits from the traffic. But one thing is sure, when we get traffic from such forums it is Genuine because nobody is forcing anyone to visit, so its good to have such Unique Visitors.

I personally feel that forum posting really works well.  If you work on high pr forums- and really contribute, exchange views, share information, it helps to you and your site or blog.  Keep it on seriously. Never spam. Do it sincerely and it will get good results.
