I'm curious to what you guys think the best blogging site is... I currently use Blogger, but I'm considering switching over to Wordpress or Tumblr, because Blogger is a bit, well, outdated. All of the people I know are getting Tumblrs, so I just wanted to know what was so great about it? Because I quickly found Blogger to be the simplest. But there isn't that many people using Blogger anymore.. Maybe that's why I have like no followers. Anyway. What's your favorite blogging system and why? Any recommendations if I should switch over to another site?

WordPress is by far the best blogging platform. The new version 3.x is outstanding.
Tumblrs is geared more towards doing instant blogging and having the blog link to other sites.
There are good arguments for having both.

As far as blogging software is concerned wordpress is the best. But that doesnt mean wordpress is also the best blogging portal. Though it seems likely that it will grow in popularity as such. However, keep in mind that your own blog's popularity does not come automatically just because youre on a popular platform (though it might help). You need to promote your blog if you really want a good stream of visitors which means a bit of work. A couple of suggestions I can make is commenting on other blogs (with your author link) and registering your blog with some blog directories like technorati or blogged.

I personally use blogger as I fid it ridiculously easy to use and is so quick.. I have heard that wordpress is good but never tried it.. My like for blogger is strong lol.. I like how you can see your amount of views and your audience I do agree about the lack of followers though, although they can sign in and follow with google or twitter, many many people have a twitter account to follow with.. Please check my blog out http://caitlin151.blogspot.com/It is on film reviews, those of the new and upcoming ones or just my favourite films

I think blogspot is the best for new bloggers. It has an easy interface and any beginner can work it out in a few minutes. It offers several templates to start work.

My first website was made using wordpress (I was walked throught it) and I guess you get use to it, but I remember every new thing was a huge deal to me...like the day that I wanted to add a banner...I needed a utility, etc. A year after, I tried blogger and there is no comparison for a newbie.....blogger is WAY to easy for setting up your blog and more friendly. So, I agree with Blogspeck' comment above, that it does not depends on the platform you use, but in your skills to direct traffic to your blog

For what it’s worth, I am using blogger for trincafe.blogspot.com. I do think Wordpress has more of a professional feel to its appearance; but for my purposes, blogger is simple and very easy to use. Duane
