Hi!

I find myself telling people about my blog all the time....and spelling it out "thewildercoast.com". Since I added ads and have made a little money....and because i spend so much time on it, I'm beginning to think of it as a personal business. So, I was thinking of making business cards. Very simple and elegant, with my name, www.thewildercoast.com, and perhaps my email. Anyone ever tried this? I could give it out as anyone would give out business cards, and it might spread the word about my blog, or make people take it more seriously. Anyone ever done this? Thoughts?

Definitely couldn't hurt... even if you don't use them at many seminars you'll have something to pass out at the bar ;)

I would suggest getting some business cards. If you search around too there are alot of sites that give out free samples.

I've done business cards for one of my blogs.  It was very helpful!  I did posters as well and I would put cards with my posters and people took them.  Mind you, I run a couple of blogs and the one I did cards for was an art blog, so it was easy to market that way... But it's definitely something that can be very helpful!

Business cards are printed on some form of card stock , the visual effect, method of printing, cost and other details varying according to cultural or organizational norms and personal preferences.

There no one single answer—we're all special, you don't make the exception ;-)

I would advise you to print your name with a nice handwriting font—stylish, not too calligraphic like Lucida Handwriting but something like Nevison Casual, for instance.

Depending of the flavor you want to give, "author" seems more independent to me—I didn't want to say creative— compared to writer.

Furthermore, remember you want to promote yourself as an author/writer and not to promote a specific piece or family of work. So keeping it simple—without mentioning the kind of writing or your pen name—is a good, versatil bet. Up to you to complement the business card handout with further details about your work—which gives you an opportunity to engage the conversation.

Business cards are cards bearing business information about a company or individual. They are shared during formal introductions as a convenience and a memory aid. A business card typically includes the giver's name,
