Hello. I have problem uploading customized template to blogger.com.[...]

Hi emil9216,

The problem is not the uploading, but the customized template!
Blogger is very very strict and demands a valid XML format.

Your questions:

Q: Can I create my own template?

A: Yes, of course. Best learning process is start trying to change an existing one (the beautiful MINIMA, for instance)! *

Q: How can I upload it after that?

A: 1) use Upload a template from a file or 2) copy the new template code in the Edit Template Window.

*) a tip for a novice: do not edit in Dreamweaver (a bigger chance the xml code will turn out invalid) but use a simple/straight editor like Notepad++.

Regards.

Hi emil9216,

A good question. I never tried a WYSIWYG XML editor.

When you load a Blogger XML template in Dreamweaver and look with Design View ... there is not much to see. Doesn't work, I guess. Or I am missing something.

But google WYSIWYG XML editor and you will get plenty of hits. So yes, there are WYSIWYG XML editors. (I didn't know that  :) )

Said again: a Blogger Template doesn't show much.
What I always do: design a new layout in normal XHTML ... and when finished ... 'translate' the code in(to) XML (including all specific Blogger code)! That last process is indeed done pure manually!

Regards.
