According to me the best way to generate traffic is through organic search,so bloggers have to adopt some SEO techniques for their blogs.So I'm just adding few tips here that might be helpful for you.
1-add your keyword in domain.
2-keyword in site title
3-keyword in post title
4-keep your keyword density within 3-6%
5-never try to foolish google or any other search engines because you can't beat them
6-keyword prominence is one of the major factor which can bring your site to the top in google.
7-instead of making your keywords bold,just add tag <h1> or like this
8-get back links from good quality relevant sites,forget about page rank if you're concentrating on traffics
So just follow these techniques & you'll be ranked top in search engines.Just for example my blog
www.blogoof.com have PR0 because I never tried to get links from many sites instead I added my links on relevant sites with good quality comments or forum postings & now I'm getting results.I'm ranked on top10 in google for my main keywors with some other keywords.
